1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Bahi Khata ("the Service"), operated by Bahi Khata ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Bahi Khata is a cloud-based business accounting platform that provides invoicing, inventory management, expense tracking, salary management, and financial reporting tools for small and medium businesses.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be at least 18 years of age or have legal authority to enter into this agreement

You are responsible for all activity under your account. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

4. Free Trial & Subscription

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required for the trial period. After the trial, continued access requires an active subscription.

Subscription fees are billed according to the plan selected. We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Price changes do not affect the current billing period.

5. User Data & Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you enter into the Service, including but not limited to business records, invoices, inventory data, financial transactions, and employee information.

We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your data. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use the Service to store or transmit content that infringes third-party rights
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access controls, and regular security audits. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

8. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will provide advance notice of planned maintenance when possible.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bahi Khata shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the total fees paid by you during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bahi Khata from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Account Termination

You may deactivate your account at any time through the Settings page. Upon deactivation, your data is preserved for 30 days to allow for recovery. After 30 days, your data may be permanently deleted.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or fail to maintain an active subscription after the trial period.

12. Modifications to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
